Prayer Leaders

At our last Men’s Huddle I was asked to assign Prayer Leaders for our Tuesday Night Prayer Conference calls (641-715-3395 / Code 756646#).

I only scheduled the prayer line “regulars” to be Prayer Leaders.  However, we welcome others who wish to act in that capacity.  Just respond to this email and and let me know to add your name to the Prayer Leader schedule.  We are still encouraging all brothers to participate in our Tuesday evening prayer conference calls (7 P.M.) whether or not you wish to be a Prayer Leader.

Outing for Boys and Young Men

At our meeting we discussed setting a date for a bowling event for our boys and young men.  However, since our meeting, New Solid Rock Fellowship Church has been invited by Hot Skates (1716 Whitehead Road in Woodlawn) to be the Church of the Week at their Gospel Skate Night on Monday, August 17 from 6 PM to 9 PM.  It has been suggested that we use this opportunity to fellowship with our youth instead of the bowling outing.  My thoughts are that Sons of Levi could sponsor this event and open it up to all our youth:  both males and females.  The cost would be $6 per person which includes admission, 1 drink, 1 slice of pizza and skate rental.  We would ask each brother for a $20 donation to cover the cost for 3 young people. Adults would pay the $6 (whether they skate or not.)   Please let me have your thoughts regarding substituting this event for the bowling outing and having the Sons of Levi be the sponsors.

 Sharing From God’s Word

You will recall that at our last Men’s Huddle we added a new item to our meeting agenda:  having a brother share briefly from God’s Word.  On July 19, Bro. Robert Payne shared from John 5:1-9 and gave us some good insights about persistence and patience.  If you would like to be placed on the agenda to share (10 – 15 minutes) from God’s Word at a future Men’s Huddle, respond to this email, providing your topic and the Bible passage you intend to share from.  Based on the responses I receive, I will put together a schedule of the brothers who will be sharing from God’s Word at future Men’s Huddles.

We are still working our way through Maximized Manhood and will be picking up at Lesson 11 (Adult Boys and It’s The Heart) at our September 20th Men’s Huddle.

REMINDER:  Tonight (8/4/2015) is National Night Out.  New Solid Rock Fellowship Church will be participating in the celebration at Arlington Elementary School (3705 W. Rogers Avenue) from 6:30 P.M. to 6 P.M.  We are looking for help in setting up our Prayer Tent at the site around 6 P.M. and also Prayer Warriors who will be available to pray with members of the community who stop by for prayer.
